Hakeem Ali (formerly Robert Anderson Baynes Jr.)
Hakeem Ali, also known as Master Cinque Masekela, is a multifaceted individual with a rich history in animal care, military service, law enforcement, and community outreach. Born on March 28th, 1959, Mr. Ali's lifelong passion for animals began during his childhood on a rural New York farm, where he cared for his father's bird dogs and injured strays.
Dog Training and Community Service
Mr. Ali's professional dog training career includes graduating from the Pro Train Institute in California. He has actively worked with rescue groups and helped numerous people address dog behavior issues. His dedication to community service is exemplified by his role as a Park Ranger at South Mountain Park, where he founded the Reach Out Ranger Program for kids. This program included hikes, tree planting, desert discovery activities, and even overnight horseback riding adventures.
Military, Law Enforcement & K9 Expertise
Beyond animal care, Hakeem Ali has an impressive background in the military, serving in the 152nd Army Engineer Battalion and the Air Force National Guard. His training as a combat medic honed his skills, which he later shared with West Point cadets through martial arts and dog training sessions. His time as head of K9 security at Park Central demonstrated his leadership in law enforcement.
Akita Breeder, Martial Arts, and Beyond
Mr. Ali is a dedicated breeder and trainer, specializing in Japanese Akitas and other rare breeds. His expertise led to co-founding the Akita Club of Western New York and producing champion show dogs. Mr. Ali's interests expand beyond animals, encompassing martial arts, music, chess, and outdoor activities like hiking, camping, boating, and fishing.
